Staying safe off-piste

Important equipment & preparation

For safe freeriding in the Arlberg region, an avalanche backpack and the proper safety equipment (probe, shovel, & avalanche transceiver) are essential. Not to mention up-to-date information on snow, avalanche, and weather conditions. An experienced guide by your side ensures maximum safety in off-piste terrain. All necessary equipment can be hired directly from the many sports shops in St. Anton.

Winter via ferrata

Climb & ride - Unique in Tirol

The winter via ferrata in St. Anton am Arlberg sets every Alpine enthusiast’s heart racing. Fully secured with a wire rope, it leads over snow and rock, offering breathtaking panoramic views. From lofty heights, you can admire the Verwall Group and the Lechtal Alps before embarking on an off-piste run. The route takes you through untouched terrain, either via the Moostal valley back to St. Anton or through the Malfontal valley down to Pettneu.
