When the alpine roses bloom on the Rendl in July, the mountain offers a spectacular display of colour. The Alpenrosenweg leads through a sea of bright heather plants – it’s as if the mountain itself were glowing red. At around 2,100 metres, an impressive panoramic view opens up over the Stanzer Tal.

On warm days, the water playground at the Arlensattel water reservoir is a particularly refreshing spot to cool off and have fun.

From mid-June to early October, you can explore the mountains on a variety of hikes. During this time, the summer cable cars will take you to the starting points of your planned hikes. 

The following mountain restaurants of the Arlberger Bergbahnen are open for you during the summer: Verwallstube Sommer, Valluga View Restaurant, Gampen Restaurant, Kapall Restaurant, and Rendl Restaurant.

The Alpine Rose Trail at Rendl takes you through a vibrant sea of alpine roses. During the blooming season—usually from late June to mid-July—the mountain glows in striking shades of red. At an altitude of about 2,100 meters, you can also enjoy a magnificent view of the Stanzer Valley.

Along the hiking trails, you’ll find plenty of activities for families: Discover the “Mutspuren” adventure trail on the Gampen, including the highlight—the water play area at Arlensattel —the “Hopplweg” trail on the Gampen, and different playgrounds near the mountain restaurants, such as the Verwallstube Sommer, the Gampen Restaurant, and the Rendl Restaurant. 

The Galzigbahn, Vallugabahn I and II, Gampenbahn, Kapallbahn, and Rendlbahn summercable cars take you directly to the starting points of your mountain hikes.

Since you are in the mountains, check the current weather conditions before your hike and keep a close eye on the sky. Make sure to wear weather-appropriate clothing, allow plenty of time, and be aware that trails can become slippery in rain or during thunderstorms.

In St. Anton am Arlberg, you can reach the mountain rescue service by dialing the emergency number 140. For general emergencies, dial 112 as usual.
