One of Austria’s most snow-reliable ski areas
Ski Arlberg is one of Austria’s most snow-sure ski areas in winter. Thanks to its altitude, alpine terrain, north-facing slopes and regular heavy snowfall, the ski area offers reliable winter sports conditions from December well into spring.
The snow and avalanche report provides an up-to-date overview of snow depths on the mountain and in the valley. It also shows current snowfall, snow conditions and avalanche warning levels across the Arlberg region, including St. Anton - St. Christoph - Stuben, Lech - Oberlech - Zürs and Warth-Schröcken.
These practical updates help you assess the conditions on site and prepare for your day in the mountains. With all live information from the region at a glance, planning your ski holiday is simple and convenient.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Arlberg is considered one of the most snow-reliable regions for skiing and winter sports. Its altitude of up to 2,800 metres helps provide excellent conditions. Varied slope aspects and north-facing terrain also mean that slopes are usually good, even in winters with less snowfall.
Snowfall on the Arlberg usually peaks in January, when the region records an average of 111 centimetres. The ski and winter sports season generally starts earlier, though. Ski Arlberg is regarded as snow-reliable from December through to spring and, thanks to its favourable conditions, often has good snow cover until April.
Current snow depths are recorded at various measuring points throughout the Ski Arlberg ski area.
Snow depth and snow quality can vary from one region to another. The snow report provides live updates on key questions such as:
- When did it last snow?
- How much fresh snow has fallen?
- What are the current snow conditions like?
The practical filter function makes it easy to check and compare conditions by region.
Thanks to its high-altitude slopes and natural snowfall, Ski Arlberg is regularly one of the first major ski areas in the Alps to be fully open. In early winter in particular, guests benefit from:
- reliable snow cover at higher altitudes
- open main connections between the regions
- very good slope conditions
For detailed information on snow cover, slope conditions, and snow quality, refer to the daily snow report.

The current avalanche warning level can vary by region. The snow and avalanche report shows the latest conditions in St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben, Lech, Oberlech, Zürs and Warth-Schröcken. Simply filter by region to get a clear overview.
The snow and avalanche report uses the five-level European avalanche danger scale to show the current avalanche risk. The five danger levels are based on three factors:
- how likely avalanches are to be triggered
- how widespread the danger spots are
- the size and frequency of avalanches that can be expected
The avalanche report helps you assess the risk away from secured ski runs. It is especially important for freeriders, ski tourers and anyone skiing off-piste.
Important: A low avalanche warning level does not mean there is no risk. Decisions should always take the latest weather, terrain, experience, fitness and ability into account.
