The center of the high-pressure system will temporarily shift slightly further west toward the British Isles by midweek. A trough extending from the north will cause atmospheric conditions here to become more unstable. As a result, with increasing cloud cover, the likelihood of local showers and thunderstorms will rise. In addition, temperatures will not rise as sharply as they have recently. On Thursday and Friday, mostly stable weather will prevail, with plenty of sunshine in the morning and some cumulus clouds in the afternoon. The likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will generally be low. Temperatures will remain early-summer-like overall and will be warmer than average for May. Over the weekend, the air mass will gradually become more humid and energetic again, so that showers and thunderstorms could become more frequent, especially on Sunday.
