The cradle of Alpine skiing

The history of skiing on Arlberg is long and glorious. As the cradle of alpine skiing, the mountain region is deeply rooted in winter sports and enjoys international renown. Through progressive thinking and innovative power, numerous pioneers and masterminds made the ski resort what it is today: a legendary location for alpine skiing. They were also the driving force behind the construction of the state-of-the-art cable cars that link the three ski resorts on Arlberg. In 2013, the Auenfeldjet brought Lech Zürs and Warth-Schröcken closer together – and in 2016, the circle was completed with the Flexenbahn. Ski Arlberg became the largest connected ski resort in Austria and is now one of the five biggest ski resorts in the world!
