Current conditions

The Alps will be in a very stormy southerly flow over the weekend. This will bring strong southerly winds to the north side of the Alps, with parts of the mountains experiencing very strong southerly foehn winds. As a result, clouds will repeatedly break up more, allowing the sun to come through. Conversely, compact clouds will build up from the south along the main Alpine ridge, leading to some precipitation at times. Overnight into Monday, the precipitation will intensify, and as the foehn winds will diminish towards Monday morning, this precipitation will also spread to the northern edge of the Alps, albeit weakening. The snow line will drop to 1600 meters above sea level. Colder air will seep in, and by Tuesday, high pressure will dominate. Consequently, Tuesday night will be frosty. Following that, a slightly changeable but generally friendly westerly to southwesterly flow will establish, bringing milder conditions once again.
„As a meteorologist in the region, I am not only very familiar with the small-scale meteorological particuliarities that distinguish the Arlberg region from other regions, but also with the demands that locals and guests place on a regional weather report.“
